CMA Review Course

-New for the Silicon Valley Chapter

-Open to all IMA Members

The Silicon Valley Chapter has taken the added step in helping member become certified.  Through  the hard work and dedicated efforts of Mike Van Roy and Jeff Jones, they started a study group to help others in the same situation study for the exams.  The group meets approximately once a week to review sections of the study guides.  The format is interactive and the most important points are highlighted.  The group discusses the major issues and works the sample questions.  This is great for those who are taking the exam around the same times.

Feedback from the study groups has been tremendous with participation and inquiries from numerous chapters.  All sections, except section 4 can be taken in any order.  This makes for easy transition into the group at any time.  Please contact any of the board member for more information or for a schedule of meeting times.

To date, pass rate is 100% of those taking the exam after participation in the study group.  The hours count toward CPE as well.  We look forward to seeing you there and for even greater participation.  We will begin new sections after the completion of the current section.  Because of the great success of the course and great participation of IMA members, we are able to provide a substantial discount on the Gleim Study materials - see below.

About the CMA

The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation provides corporate management and individual Members with an objective measure of knowledge and competence in the field of management accounting. The CMA is an invaluable credential for professional advancement and for broadening professional skills and perspective.

Only the CMA certification requires the broad range of topics that are key to management performance and contribution. Exam topics include economics, business finance, situational analysis, and decision making with a strong emphasis on ethics. Combined with relevant rule-based subject matter, the four-tiered CMA exam is designed to develop and measure critical thinking and decision-making skills.

While the CMA certification isn’t required for IMA Members, professional certification is the most effective way for our Members to concretely demonstrate and maintain the highest standard of relevant knowledge and skills.
